Connect your WordPress site to AffSERP so it can publish generated articles for you.

== Description ==

AffSERP writes Amazon buyer guides, product reviews and SEO articles, then
publishes them straight to your site. This plugin makes the connection.

You pick an existing user as the post author and click Connect. No new user is
created, and you never share your login password: the plugin creates a dedicated
WordPress Application Password for AffSERP, which you can revoke at any time from
this plugin or from your WordPress profile.

**What it does**

* Connects your site to AffSERP in one click
* Publishes as an author you choose
* Shows which users are connected, and when
* Disconnects cleanly, revoking the password and removing the site from AffSERP

**Requirements**

Application Passwords must be available on your site. WordPress disables them on
sites that aren't served over HTTPS, and they can also be switched off by a
security plugin or a filter. The plugin checks this and tells you before you try
to connect.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the plugin through Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, or unzip it into
   `/wp-content/plugins/`.
2. Activate it.
3. Open **AffSERP** in the admin menu, choose the post author, and click
   **Connect with AffSERP**. A tab opens to finish connecting.

You need to be signed in to AffSERP in the same browser to complete the
connection.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Do I need to create a new WordPress user? =

No. AffSERP publishes as an existing user you choose. Posts will show that user
as the author.

= Is my WordPress password shared with AffSERP? =

No. The plugin creates a separate Application Password, which only allows API
access and can be revoked without affecting your login.

= How do I disconnect? =

Click Disconnect on this plugin's page. That revokes the application password and
removes the site from AffSERP, so nothing can be published afterwards.

= What happens if I delete the plugin? =

Deleting it revokes the application passwords it created and removes its settings,
so access is fully cut.

= Connecting says it couldn't reach AffSERP. What now? =

Some hosts block outbound requests. The plugin will show your site URL, username
and application password so you can add the site by hand in AffSERP under
Add Website & API > WordPress.

== Changelog ==

* AffSERP now fills the Meta Description field of your SEO plugin when it
  publishes: Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress and The SEO

* Dashboard > Updates > "Check again" now finds new AffSERP releases right
  away instead of waiting up to 6 hours.

= 1.1.0 =
* Disconnecting in WordPress now also removes the site from AffSERP, instead of
  leaving it there failing to publish with a revoked password.
* Deleting the plugin now revokes its application passwords.
* The connections table no longer shows "Connected" before AffSERP has confirmed,
  and updates itself as soon as it does.
* Checks up front that Application Passwords are available, instead of failing
  after you click Connect.
* Deleting a connected WordPress user now clears the connection.
* Connecting opens AffSERP in a new tab rather than navigating away from wp-admin.
* Automatic updates.
* Fixed a fatal error that made connecting impossible.

= 1.0.0 =
* First release.

== Upgrade Notice ==

= 1.1.0 =
